What is the myday skill?

MyDay is a third party personal digital assistant built by aging and healthcare professionals at Well.Said, Inc. It is currently offered for the Amazon Alexa-enabled devices such as the Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, and Echo Show.

Do I have to pay for the MyDay skill?

The MyDay skill is available for free and can be activated by anyone with an Amazon Alexa-enabled device, simply by telling Alexa “Enable MyDay", or by searching for the MyDay skill in the Amazon store, or by clicking here.

What is myday companion?

MyDay Companion allows seniors using the MyDay skill to share daily well-being updates with authorized family members or loved ones. Family members can sign up for a free 30-day trial of MyDay Companion here. Every time their senior checks in using the MyDay skill, a message will alert subscribing family members and provide details of how their senior is doing. At the end of the trial period, a 30-day comprehensive well-being assessment and individual profile is provided.

How much does MyDay Companion cost?

MyDay Companion subscriptions start at just $14.99 per month or $150 per year. Plans include options to add multiple family members and loved ones to the notifications and/or link notifications to multiple seniors.

Does WellSaid keep my information, sell it or otherwise disclose it to anyone?

We take the privacy and security of our users very seriously, and have gone to great lengths to keep individual information secure and private. WellSaid’s privacy policy prevents us from sharing any individual’s information, selling it or otherwise disclosing it without the permission of the MyDay user. A senior must grant permission for their well-being information to be shared with a known family member or loved one, and this permission can be revoked at any time. Does Amazon collect information about users of MyDay or the Alexa devices and how is that information treated?

Amazon only collects information that you give them when you set up an Amazon account or use Alexa. When you are not using Alexa, there is no information that is collected, and the microphone is turned off. Only when you wake up your Alexa device, does she collect what you are saying. When you use Alexa to do other things besides MyDay, WellSaid does not know what you did or receive any information. Only when you use say ALexa…Start MyDay, does WellSaid receive your information. What equipment or connections do I need to use MyDay?

Currently the MyDay skill is available only on the Amazon Alexa platform. In order to participate as a user of the skill, you will need an Alexa smart speaker device which is connected to the Internet. Amazon’s smart speaker devices (Echo, Echo Dot, and Echo Show) currently require a WiFi Internet connection.

Can i use myDay if I don’t have a smart speaker device?

Amazon offers an Alexa app for smart phones. Search for Alexa App in the Apple Store or Google Play. Once you have the Alexa App, you can add MyDay to your enabled skills through the skill store. Then you can use your smart phone app to participate in MyDay.

What do I do if i’m trying to use MyDay for the first time?

Just say “Alexa…Enable MyDay” and she will add this skill to your list of active skills. Every time you want to use MyDay after that, you just have to wake Alexa up by saying her name and then “start” the name of the skill you want. “Alexa…Start MyDay”.
