For Us, Caring for Seniors is Personal

November is National Family Caregiver’s month. So it’s even more timely that we are announcing the official launch of MyDay for Seniors this month. As a team of individuals deeply committed to improving the independence and vitality of seniors, wants to celebrate those that care for and care about seniors each and every day. And, where we can, to give them the peace of mind they long for when it comes to those under their care.

In the US alone, there are over 43 Million caring loved ones who invest over $500 Billion (yes with a B!) each year of their own time and money to support their aging parent and family members. Much of that burden falls to individuals who are also trying to manage their own busy lives, families, and jobs.

With that economic burden also comes an emotional one that can’t be measured in dollars. Especially for those carrying the weight of parents who live independently, but perhaps not nearby. How do you tell how they are doing and whether they need help from you? How do we know whether they are safe, following their medication regimens, getting enough nutritious food, not experiencing loneliness or anxieties, not slipping, tripping or falling?

And while these facts are staggering, for us, this challenge is also personal. Our team’s vision for MyDay and MyDay Companion came from over 30 years of cumulative personal and professional experiences supporting seniors. And over the past 15 years, our team has been building, validating and commercializing voice technology that engage seniors each day to help support their health and well-being. But beyond our professional expertise, we also have aging parents who have struggled with the full range of issues from loneliness to memory loss to falls to nutritional challenges.

So it’s only natural that we take what we are passionate about and have personal experience with: helping seniors age well and stay independent as long as possible, and combine it with what we have professional expertise developing: voice technologies that engage seniors, to build MyDay on the Amazon Alexa platform. Our goal: to help seniors maintain autonomy, achieve mastery and find purpose every day.

And by giving family members and loved ones easy access to information about the well-being status of their senior each day, we strive to bring the peace of mind and opportunity to bring caring support where needed.

Thank you for allowing us to help care for those you care about. We hope you will give MyDay a try. Your senior can enable MyDay on their Alexa devices by saying “Alexa…Enable MyDay”. It’s free! And you can get a daily well-being update by activating the MyDay Companion as a free trial, or subscription starting as low as $14.99 per month.
